OPM Lyrics

“Prom” – The Juans

“Prom”

Halika na / Come on
Hawakan ang aking kamay at sabay maglakbay / Hold my hand and let’s go together
Iwanan na / Leave it all behind
Kalimutan na ang mga problema at sakit na ‘yong nadarama / Forget all your problems and the pain that you feel

REFRAIN:
O~ / Oh~
Tatakbo, lalayo / [We’ll] run, [we’ll] go far away
O~ / Oh~
Kasama mong tutungo / I’ll go with you

CHORUS:
Isasayaw ka sa ulap / [I’ll] lead you in a dance on a cloud
Damhin ang hangin / Feel the wind
Ang ihip na nagsisilbing himig natin / The breeze that serves as our melody
Kasabay ng tibok ng mga puso nating / And matches the beat of our (shining*) hearts
Nagniningning ang mga bituin / The stars are shining
Nagniningning ang mga bituin / The stars are shining

O kay sayang / Oh how happy [I am]
Makita ang liwanag ng buwan sa iyong mga mata / To see the brightness of the moon in your eyes
Alam ko na / I now know
Iyong nadarama ang init na dulot ng ating pagmamahal / That you feel the heat emanating from our love

(Refrain)

(Chorus)

O~ / Oh~
(Repeat 7x)

(Chorus except last line)

Isasayaw ka sa ulap / [I’ll] lead you in a dance
Isasayaw ka sa ulap (nagniningning ang mga bituin) / [I’ll] lead you in a dance (the stars are shining)
Isasayaw ka sa ulap / [I’ll] lead you in a dance
Isasayaw ka sa ulap / [I’ll] lead you in a dance
Isasayaw ka sa ulap / [I’ll] lead you in a dance

* I added the parenthesis because “shining” doesn’t actually appear in that line, but in the next line. The artist ended the line with “nating which implies that there should be another word after that, and it is “nagniningning” (or “shining”), which appears in the next line. “Shining” therefore works to describe both “hearts” and “stars”.
